Artisan soap making has been part of society since ancient Babylonian times. Cold-processed soap, created by skilled makers, uses fine ingredients and careful methods to deliver high-quality results.
All of the soaps we make by hand are cold processed, combining natural oils, butters, and bioflavonoids.
A key advantage of making cold-processed soaps is the ability to control every ingredient. We know exactly what goes in and can select natural ingredients chosen for their skin-caring properties. This flexibility allows for a wide variety of gentle, nourishing formulations.
Another benefit is that cold-processed soap does not require added detergents. Some detergents can feel harsh on the skin and reduce its natural oils, which may leave it feeling dry or tight. Cold-processed soap offers a gentler approach to daily cleansing while respecting the skin’s natural balance.
The process takes longer (usually 4–6 weeks or more), but we believe that good things take time. Cold-processed soaps last well, and the method helps preserve the qualities of plant-derived oils and butters—another reason the wait is worthwhile. By contrast, other methods may diminish some of the richness of these ingredients.
Cold-processed soaps can also be a more mindful choice for the environment. They aren’t mass-produced in the same way and avoid the energy-intensive heating of other methods. By hand-making soap in small batches, we can leave out environmentally concerning ingredients such as palm oil, which is common in commercial soap.
We use only natural ingredients to craft our products—right in front of you. Our self-sustainable store features hygienic production spaces where every balm, cream, and soap is made in full view, packaged with as little environmental impact as possible.
One of our most-loved cold-processed soaps is our Vitalising Calendula Artisanal Soap with cacao and mango butters. It’s designed to provide rich, comforting hydration for the whole body. The natural butters and oils in this traditional recipe help leave skin soft and nourished.
This soap, part of our Cultivate range for spring, also combines pure grapefruit, lemon myrtle, neroli, and petitgrain essential oils. Together they create a gentle, uplifting cleansing experience with a naturally refreshing aroma.
Cold-processed soaps offer a wonderful way to care for skin with natural, effective ingredients while keeping routines simple and mindful of the environment. Using readily available botanicals like calendula makes this approach both traditional and sustainable.
When it comes to comfort and caring for delicate or tired skin, harsh products and stripping ingredients are best avoided. Your skin deserves to be supported and treated with gentleness.
