Freshness, by design

At Brewing Beauty, freshness begins long before a product reaches the shelf.

We formulate, manufacture, and fill our cosmetic products in controlled micro-batches in our Berlin manufactory. Working at a deliberately smaller scale allows us to stay close to every formulation, every ingredient, and every batch we release.

Why freshness matters

Natural cosmetic products are living systems. Over time, ingredients interact, formulations settle, and freshness slowly fades.

By producing in smaller quantities and shorter cycles, we reduce the distance between production and use. Our products remain closer to their original state, with less time spent waiting on shelves or in transit.

Freshness is not about speed.
It is about proximity.

Our Freshness Scale

Every Brewing Beauty product carries a Freshness Scale, indicating how recently it was produced when it reaches you. The scale shows:

  • when the batch was produced
  • where it sits within its intended freshness window

We use the Freshness Scale to make production timing visible and transparent, rather than relying on abstract shelf-life dates alone.

Deliberately small. Professionally made.

Micro-batch production at Brewing Beauty is not a simplified or improvised way of making cosmetics.

Our products are developed, manufactured, and quality-controlled using professional cosmetic manufacturing principles. The difference is scale, not rigour.

We follow structured processes, controlled formulations, batch documentation, and microbiological testing, just as in larger production environments. By deliberately working at a smaller scale, we gain closer oversight, reduce waste, and remain accountable for every batch we release.

This is manufacturing, intentionally scaled to remain transparent and sustainable.

How we produce

All Brewing Beauty products are manufactured in our own Berlin facility under controlled conditions.

Our process follows established cosmetic manufacturing practices, adapted to micro-batch volumes:

  1. Ingredients are sourced, logged, and stored under defined conditions
  2. Formulations are produced in controlled micro-batches using cosmetic manufacturing equipment
  3. Each batch undergoes defined quality checks before release.
  4. Products are filled, labelled, and prepared on site
  5. Batch data is documented before products are released for sale

This structure allows us to maintain consistency, quality, and traceability across every product.

Quality checks before release

Before a batch is made available, we perform a Release Test.

This test assesses the overall microbial load of a batch, including bacteria, yeasts, and moulds. It supports product quality, preservative performance, and stability throughout its intended use period.

Only batches that meet our internal release criteria are made available.

It is a quiet but essential step in responsible cosmetic manufacturing.

Batch information, clearly labelled

Every Brewing Beauty product is labelled with a batch number directly on the container.

This batch number identifies when the product was produced and allows each batch to be clearly documented and traced. It is part of our standard manufacturing process and applies to every product we release.

In addition, we share production dates and usage or expiry information online where relevant. This allows you to understand when your product was made and how best to enjoy it within its intended freshness window.

Fresh skincare deserves clarity, not assumptions.

Freshness is not about perfection. It is about intention.

By choosing micro-batch production and sharing how we work, we invite you into our process. Not to convince, but to be transparent.

Because informed care is part of caring for your skin.
